Privacy Policy

KANSAS CITY DENTAL ER, LLC INTERNET PRIVACY & SECURITY POLICY

Last updated: September 4, 2026

Kansas City Dental ER respects your privacy and is committed to protecting sensitive information. This statement explains how we collect, use and safeguard information on https://kcdentaler.com.

This statement applies only to information collected through this website. Your dental records and any protected health information created when you become a patient are governed separately by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, described below.

Please do not send health information through this website. Website forms, chat and text messages are not secure and are not the right place for medical or dental details. If you need to discuss your health, call us at (816) 360-9500 and we will take the conversation somewhere appropriate.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may amend this policy at any time. When we do, we revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the revised policy.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you browse the site without interacting with it, you browse anonymously. We do not collect your name, address, phone number or email address simply because you visited.

When you choose to interact with us, we collect what you give us. That may include your name, phone number, email address, the reason for your visit, and appointment preferences. What is collected depends on the form you use, so the form itself is the best guide.

We never ask for your Social Security number or date of birth through this website.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  • To answer your questions, emails and requests
  • To book, confirm, reschedule or remind you about appointments
  • To send information, forms or materials you asked for
  • To follow up with you about services you asked about
  • To send news, offers and updates about the practice, where you have agreed to receive them
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it

TEXT MESSAGES (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number, we may contact you by text message. Depending on how you have interacted with us, those texts may include:

  • Appointment messages – booking confirmations, scheduling and rescheduling, reminders and follow-up after a visit
  • Service messages – replies to a question you asked, forms you need to complete, or billing and payment notices
  • Marketing messages – offers, news and reminders about services we provide, where you have agreed to receive them

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of receiving dental treatment.

To stop texts, reply STOP to any message from us. You may also call (816) 360-9500 and ask to be removed. Reply HELP to any message, or call the same number, for assistance. Opting out of marketing texts does not stop essential messages about an appointment you have already booked, unless you ask us to stop those as well.

We cannot guarantee that any given carrier will deliver a message, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

EMAIL AND MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

If you subscribe or ask us to contact you, we may email you about appointments, services, offers and practice news. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.

We do not sell, rent, trade or exchange your email address or phone number. Where we use a vendor to deliver messages on our behalf, that vendor is under agreement and may not use your details for anything else.

Our emails may tell us whether a message was opened, whether links were clicked, and whether your email program can display images. We use that to decide what to send and how to format it.

APPOINTMENT BOOKING AND SCHEDULING

Booking and patient communication on this site are handled with the help of third-party scheduling and patient-messaging providers. When you click to book, you may be taken to a scheduler operated by one of those providers, and the details you enter there are handled under that provider’s own terms and privacy policy as well as ours.

We choose these providers for their security practices and require them to protect your information, but we do not control their systems. We encourage you to read their policies.

WEBSITE TRACKING, ANALYTICS AND SESSION RECORDING

We track how this website is used, by anonymous visitors and by visitors who contact us. We do this through third-party analytics, advertising and measurement services, delivered through a tag management system. The specific services can change over time. They currently include, and are not limited to, tools provided by Google, Microsoft and Meta.

These tools may collect:

  • Your IP address, approximate location, device, browser and operating system
  • Pages you view, how long you stay, what you click, how far you scroll, and which site or ad sent you
  • Session recordings and heatmaps – a replay of mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and the pages you moved through, so we can see where the website is confusing
  • Cookies and similar identifiers stored on your device
  • Advertising signals used to measure our advertising and to show our ads to you on other websites

This information is transmitted to and stored by those third parties, who use it to compile reports for us. We use it to understand how the site performs, not to identify you personally.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We want to be straightforward about the limit of that promise, because it is a real one. The tools described above are operated by outside companies, and they collect information directly from your device when you use this site. Once they have it, how they use it is governed by their own policies and is outside our control. That is true of any website using analytics or advertising tools, and it is why the opt-out choices below matter.

Your visit may be recorded. We use session recording. That means your visit to this website can be replayed as a video: the pages you opened, where you moved your mouse, what you clicked, and how far you scrolled. It is used to find where the website is confusing or broken. These tools are configured to avoid capturing what you type into form fields, but they are not a secure channel, so please do not type health information into this website.

Your choices: most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and most offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Google and Microsoft each publish their own opt-out tools, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. Blocking cookies may stop parts of the site working.

CALL RECORDING

We use tracked phone numbers, and calls to those numbers may be recorded for training and quality assurance. You will hear a notice to that effect when the call connects.

CHILDREN UNDER 13

We do not knowingly collect information online from children under 13, and we do not market to them online. If you believe a child has given us information through this website, contact us and we will delete it.

HOW WE PROTECT INFORMATION

We use security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of data, and we limit access to staff and partners who need it to do their work. Those individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations.

We select third-party providers with sound security practices. Even so, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot warrant the security of information sent to us electronically.

HIPAA AND YOUR DENTAL RECORDS

This policy covers the website. It does not cover the protected health information we hold as your dental provider. That information is governed by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which sets out your rights over your records and how we may use and disclose them. For a copy, call (816) 360-9500 or ask at the front desk.

OTHER WEBSITES

This site links to other websites, and others link to it. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any site we do not operate. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any site you visit.

  • Your information: contact us to ask what we hold, or to correct or delete it
